Moodless to work due to...

Sigh... Ever since I arrived to work this morning, I have been moodless to work. Why? Cos my desk is in a huge freaking mess! I applied for sick leave yesterday and was absent and by the time I came back, it become like a dumpster zone. No thanks to the colleagues who dumped all the wires/boards etc rubbish on my desk. I am now entertaining evil thoughts of chunking them all in the rubbish bin, or maybe just onto another colleagues' desk to see how they like things strew across messily on their desk so much so that it affects my typing on the keyboard. Urgh! Read my lips, I HATE THEM! That reminds me of the time when someone told me that guys are like pigs. I don't think all of them are ( my dear is way much neater than me and always nagging me to clean up my room... ) but the ones in my workplace? Definately fits the bill. Now to decide where to trash these before I go crazy.

Ikoi restaurant at Hotel Miranma & movie Sanctum!

*~ Warning: Extremely long post bombarded with lots of pictures. May cause hunger ~*

I have delayed putting up this post as I refused to face the overwhelming amount of photos and let alone rethinking about those mouthwatering food that I simply has no access to at this very moment *Drool* But I still have to get it over and done with *Sigh* And so I shall... A few posts back, I mentioned that we were supposed to head to the japanese buffet, Ikoi restaurant~ But due to some unforseen circumstances, our delight was... Pretty much sunk down to the basement. =x Fast forward to 2th April, 2011, the much anticipated buffet had arrived and gone with a big bang of success! Ray and me met up with Hui first, at Plaza Singapura and while we were waiting for Bernard there, we bought milk tea with pearl from the Gong Cha. Not bad, but the downside was, I hate the long queue! Shared it with dear ( since we didn't eat much in the morning and noon and the weather was pretty hot ) and we finished it pretty fast. When Bernard arrived, we took bus ( not gonna explain more on the journey, for it took a toll on my aching feet as they walked here and there to find the bus ) to Hotel Miranma. Upon entering Hotel Miranma, at the opposite side of the main entrance and waving its hands to us was... Photobucket

Yea~! Ikoi!!

Photobucket

Love the decoration~

Photobucket

Cute & traditional wine barrels~! When we headed and explained to the waitress that our friend had booked a place, the waitress replied "Oh, the room is at 2nd level as we do not have enough space here to accomodate 16 people here." Sigh... Climbing up the stairs on my aching feet... But what awaits us was well worth it!

Photobucket

Look! Pretty room! With Japanese lanterns! And pictures and decorations!!

Photobucket

More pictures and that was our personal kitchen wahahaha *Gloat with ultimate happiness*

Photobucket

Traditional looking drum in the way that leads to the kitchen~ Turns out that since our group was too huge, they actually open up a private room for us! Three cheers to Serene! I had to take off my slippers before crawling in to my seat inside and it was decorated just like the seatings in those old Japanese flim that one often saw on TV~

Photobucket

Complimentary raw salmon ( seasoned ) and vegetable sticks ( carrots and cucumber ) but I did not touch either * shoved salmon to Ray dear *

Photobucket

Wah... Red bomb received from Jing Yee and Wei Hong! Too bad I can't attend their wedding as I am attending Karen's wedding as her sister on the same day... What does the little cups remind you of?? (Shall reveal the reason for asking this later )

Photobucket

More Japanese decorations above me!

Photobucket

What's this? Mocha Ice- Cream?? Wrongo~ It's wasabi~!!

Photobucket

Ah... The smelly beans and the other long green bean look-a-like. I spat out the smelly beans cos I don't like the taste but I fancy the other one as it taste a little bit like steamed peanuts heh heh...

Photobucket

Soya bean curd? Nope... It's chawamushi~ Back to the question I asked. Cos I was asking the group what it looks like and these are the replies I received. Bernard : 拜死人的 ( For praying of the deceased. ) Chibi: 拜拜的 ( For praying, e.g. mainly to the gods ) Jing Yee: Sake! Hui: 拜死人的 ( For praying of the deceased. ) Frankly speaking, sake was what I had in mind. But after hearing all the answers, I kept on laughing non-stop lol!!! Then dear rearranged it to this :

Photobucket

And when we looked up... We were all laughing when Jing Yee exclaimed at the picture hanging just above the cups:

Photobucket

"Lol! We are praying to Paul the Octopus!" Hahahaha~ Love these friends~!

Photobucket

Yummy fried mushroom! Dear grabbed one for me before the rest was gobbled up by the others. Seriously, I was wondering what they put in the batter that makes the fried portion of food so freaking deliciously awesome!!!! I can literally just eat the fried batter just like that! Crunchy with a little bit of sweet and so sinfully yummilicious!

Photobucket

Fishy~ Forgotten what fish but I only know the group kept on reordering it.

Photobucket

Fishy on my plate... Chibi trying to convince me to eat it whole but I just couldn't bring myself to and trying to behead the fish before eating it. Quite salty, a little bit like Ikan Billis ( I think the term for it is anchovies? ).

Photobucket

My Katsu curry don! Fried pork with japanese curry and rice~ Sweet and delicious, the rice steamed just nice... Love it~!

Photobucket

Fried tofu~

Photobucket

Lol! Mickey Mouse in the bowl of ramen!

Photobucket

Chicken wing! Has a hint of sweetness, wondering if its honey but delicious nonetheless!

Photobucket

Potato Croquettes but I don't really like as the potato taste very strong and mushy... Basically I don't like mushy food =x Not in a huge quantity anyway... Mashed potato is good but in small amount too~

Photobucket

Potato salad~ With some fruits! I think I ate a piece of apple in it, so sweet and juicy and yums! By now we just can't stop ordering more and more food and I want my Tamago sushi!!! No Bernard... I am not ordering tamagochi!!!

Photobucket

*Sob* Dear put this on my plate instead to try to satisfy me... Fried fish... *Please ignore the fish head that I decaptitated and I had yet started on the chicken wing when this was taken cos there's so much food to be eaten~ Roar~!!* I resented this dish for when I tried to bite into it, it feels as if I was eating like cucumber or carrot in huge chunk but only harder. And definately harder to swallow down... Managed to chew it down thanks to the yummy fried batter... What can i say? The batter is fab, but what it was hiding within, not!!!

Photobucket

Yea Tamago Sushi!!!!! ( For the benefit of those who still do not understand what tamago is, it stands for egg. I like it cos its sweet and yet not so sickening. You don't see me craving for normal eggs and I really do not like to eat egg yolks unless its from salted egg or... TAMAGO SUSHI~! )

Photobucket

More fried tofu~!

Photobucket

Fried Ebi aka fried prawns~

Photobucket

My plate full of food! ( And bones =x )

Photobucket

Another plate of raw salmon and swordfish~ I don't like raw food but those who had these said they were good, especially the swordfish.

Photobucket

More fish... By now I was feeling bloated and rejected despite repeated offers...

Photobucket

* Watching people passing the fish around *

Photobucket

Complimentary soup with hint of lime... It was horrid to the extend that I had to gulp it down and will myself not to throw up in front of all ( and I was so darn full that I could jolly well take merlion's place... *for those who don't get the joke, ask me and I might tell you~* )

Photobucket

Who knew such exquisite pot would pour out such horrid soup... But something funny happened here. Bernard was pouring out the soup but spilled lots more on the table ( I am so extremely grateful now that he did it ). Then someone commented that he should be more skilled in this and Bernard replied "I am a professional ok?" To which I can't remember who was the one that said it, replied "Yea, professional spiller!" One can't stop laughing when among such great and humourous friends haha...

Photobucket

Another fried food that I rejected... What??!! I was full okay!!!

Photobucket

One of the guys ordered soba... They sure can eat...

Photobucket

Picture of my chopsticks' cover~

Photobucket

Another complimentary soup. Taste exactly like the one before. Urgh.

Photobucket

Took it in another view.

Photobucket

Admiring the fire. When I was taking these pictures, I did not know the soup was gonna be horrid as it was still boiling. Had I known, I would not have bothered...

Photobucket

More fried Ebi~

Photobucket

Opps, I forgotten what these were...

Photobucket

Raw salmon.

Photobucket

More Tamago Sushi!! Managed to stuff 2 more pieces in my mouth before claiming I was full. *Ahem... Blushing~* Sometime between my 1st dish of Tamago Sushi and the fried tofu, I noticed how amazing our personal waitress was. She can totally remember everything ( or rather, at least which side of the table ordered ) and put it in front of us. And somehow we managed to split the table ( imaginary line ) to this side and that side. Haha~

Photobucket

Last dish for the day, kaarage ( I think its spelt this way ) aka fried chicken~ After that we paid the bill ( $41.20 per person ) and Serene, Charles, Ray and me rushed off in a cab to collect the movie tickets at Great World City ( GWC ) while the others continue their chow downs~!

Photobucket

Was pretty facinated by the Egyption design of the toilet in the GWC and tried to capture a couple of shots without looking like some crazy woman.

Photobucket

Went to Ice Creamery and bought this Holick ice cream with choco balls~ The choco balls reminded me of the Ballsy Mint from the Udders!!!

After that mass eating, we went to watch Sanctum. A movie about some people who loves to go cave exploring and found a huge cave in the middle of a forest area.

Though there's no animals or aliens or any life forms other than humans but it sure shows the ugly side of humans when survival is of concern. Although there were a couple of real "heros" willing to sacrifise themselves for the others, there are some real "ugly" ones that will do nothing for the sake of living. This is another type of movie where there is only 1 person survive the ordeal.

But there are lots of unpredictable ( maybe for the suspense movie goer its not so much of unpredictable ) scenes. The starting is a little bit boring but the rest of the flim just kept you holding your breath ( partly due to the fact that most of the scenes are under water ).

The thing I remember most? Haha that had got to be that when we left the cinema, most of my friends claimed that they were deprived of air for holding their breaths when the actors and actresses held theirs! =p Not a bad flim, and I love the way the director portray the sceneries.

H.K.S.K. Dessert left bad taste in my mouth

Initially I thought I might go crazy on a photo spamming spree, till I noticed that I have yet posted about this particular place ( not that I strongly recommand... ) Hong Kong Sun Kee Dessert at IMM located near the Jurong East MRT. Photobucket Yea the receipt, told ya I got bad memory for names that is too long or that I couldn't care for... So rather than telling you unknown place at unknown location, this is easier. Well, that very day, I was accompanying my mom to Akira's customer service ( which is near IMM ) but the weather was so freaking hot that when we finally reached back IMM ( and most unfortunate, Akira not only do not have the replacement part we need, they told us they stop producing that sewing machines and therefore we can't even buy the part at any other store anymore! FML... ), I was craving for something cooling. Should have picked Swensen or Anderson Ice Cream instead... Photobucket Waiting in anticipation for food to arrive. Sheesh, if I knew I was going to be disappointed, I wouldn't have paid to eat here. Photobucket Honeydew Sago aka 甜蜜蜜 which in any case, is not like its name. I dislike the funny taste of the honeydew ice-cream, and found some of the honeydew cubes that they served was kind of yellowish? Like rotten yellowish? Left a bad taste in my mouth. Did not bother to complain cos 1) I am too hot and bothered and tired, 2) If complain and they serve me another plate of this, I might throw it on the floor or something. Photobucket BBQ Pork Noodles. My sis wanted it so I ordered, but she said it was not nice and she did not want to finish. If my mom was not there, she probably just left it after taking a few bites. My mom says the noodle was not so bad... Yet I can sense a huge, unsaid "But" in her tone. Photobucket Char Siew Zhu Chang Fen... My mom ordered this, but much to her disappointment ( and I was not surprised ), only the Char Siew taste good. The rest... Not so much. Photobucket Watermelon Sago aka 性感佳人. One of the rare dish that we ordered that my mom actually said that tasted nice. I did not try it as I was totally turn off by the HoneyDew Sago. Just wanted to get out of there asap. Photobucket Watermelon Freeze with Aloe Vera. My mom and sis like this as well. I think the main reason was because they had fun playing with the straw. Cos if you lifted the straw, you can see a small pillar/tube of watermelon freeze forming right at where the straw was a few seconds ago. But overall, this particular eatery left a bad taste in my mouth and I have no desire of heading back again. At the end of the meal, one of the waiter asked me to fill in a survey form. Naturally, my comments on it was, well, not so good for them~ I know I am very picky on food and honeydew sago happens to be one of the dessert that I love since young. But, you can don't take my word for it and try. Then we can compare and see if I am right or wrong.
