What phone to buy?

After months or maybe years of watching friends upgrading their phones to smart phones, android, droid, iphones etc, I was wondering "Am I still considered old fashion with my little Sony Ericssion W595?"

But given the fact that I wasn't earning enough for myself to spend a couple of years ago, and low salary, plus my craze for mangas and games, it didn't come as a surprise that I'm broke, month after month.

And now, with my contract ending in next month, I am looking at all these "high-end" phones, since I love to surf net wherever I go and of cos, Facebook.

However... The phones that I am interested in... Are almost impossible to obtain...

1) iphone 4 white

Yup, white, not black. After dating my dear, my love for white stuff grows gradually. Unfortunately, this is one very very elusive phone. And the current price of it in black, be it at Singtel or M1, are at $480 with plan. Wondering is the white one same price?

Though there are rumors that it might be out next month, but when will it actually be out, your guess is as good as mine... Which brings me to the next phone...

2) iphone 5

Again, rumors said that this particular phone will be coming out on like June or July ( almost like the same date as the first iphone 4 hits the market ). This phone is said to have better functions & receptions, unlike iphone 3GS or iphone 4.

Most of my friends that uses iphone ( be it 3GS or 4 ) are complaining about the reception or the lack of it. Hopefully like the rumors, this phone is going to be better.

But the downside? Since its going to be a better phone and won't be out like in 4-5 months time ( and the date is still not exact yet ), if I am going to wait to buy for it, how much will it cost? How long will it take to arrive??? Uncertainties are not fun... So is waiting...

3) Blackberry 9800 Torch white

Surprise that after 2 iphones consideration that I am thinking of Blackberry? But after looking at the picture, I don't think so right?

There's always something that I love better than white and that is white + silver! ( Just like my Fred Perry shirt that my dear bought for me! Loves him so~ Heehee and mine is cheaper than his Fred Perry shirt )

For this particular Blackberry, I had been considering it ( when I didn't know of the white existance. ) for quite sometime.

And just the day before, I was talking to Ying ( she and JW came over to "bai nian" ) about getting new phone and when I mentioned this, she replied "Oh, my elder brother is using it and his comment is this phone quite good to use."

After hearing that, makes me much more interested in getting the phone ( I prefer to get opinions from close/trusted friends rather than online reviews, for who knows? They might be scammers wanna-be )

Here comes my dilemma. I am thinking of switching from Singtel to M1 ( cos my dear is in M1 and M1 allows 3 free phone call lines to fellow M1 users ). Singtel is selling this in black for $598 ( with plan ) and M1 is selling $538 ( with plan ).

"So what's your dilemma? Go for M1!" most might just say something along this line to me.

But...

1) Singtel is having a $100 off selected Blackberry products and this is one of them and thus, reducing the price to $498.

2) As far as I know ( I have yet gone to ask Singtel or M1 yet at this point! ), both Singtel and M1 do not have this in white.

And the 2) is the more problematic worry at the moment.

So... Which phone to pick? Sigh...
